Oneness

is the underlying essence of everything beyond duality

Our world in which we all inhabit has become increasingly fragmented and disjointed. We have become disconnected from ourselves and from nature and have forgotten that we all cohabit in this universal web of life. This increasingly disjointed world has become very individualistic and separated from Mother Nature. We need to rekindle that level of connectedness in which we were all interwoven interconnected and one.

Phenomenology has shown us that all consciousness is consciousness of something. The world is never simply there outside us. Our intentionality constructs it. For the most part we construct our world so naturally that we are unaware that we are doing this every moment. It seems that the same rhythm of construction works inwards. Our intentionality constructs the landscapes of our inner and outer world/s.

Human presence and oneness are infused with landscape. This profound presence and oneness are brought out in the poem by Amairgen, chief poet of the Milesians, as he steps ashore to take possession of the land on behalf of his people.

I am the wind which breathes upon the sea,
I am the wave of the ocean,
I am the murmur of the billows,
I am the ox of the seven combats,
I am the Vulture upon the rocks,
I am a beam of the sun,
I am the fairest of plants,
I am the wild boar in valor,
I am the salmon in the water,
I am a lake in the plain,
I am a world of knowledge,
I am the point of the lands of battle,
I am the God who created the fire in the head.
